That looks like a stack of paper that has been draped over something for a very long time and some creature put it's front door right in the middle . . . Or if could be the blow hole of a space alien.

This reminds me of the paper eucalyptus tree in my sister's garden in Newcastle NSW, so I'll go with a paper eucalyptus tree as my guess.
