 "Cheugnette" SAR Class 19D Engine #2650.
Taken at the Friends of the Rail yard in Hermanstad, Pretoria at sunrise. She was pounding out of the yard. A tight crop (including tight on the stack) was deliberate and it's not re-cropped in PP.
Whilst I took some beaut Wildlife shots in 2010, I chose to enter this as it was one of my least "comfort-zone" images thanks to DPC and I personally liked the (limited) PP technique I applied to it.

"Locomotive Breath" is a song by the English progressive rock band Jethro Tull from their 1971 album, Aqualung.

I love the mood you created with this. Of course, the setting sun helps, but your choice of portrait orientation to capture the plumes of smoke is wonderful.

I love how the light illuminates this mighty train engine as it belts out steam and smoke. I can almost hear the hiss of the steam of this engine. It is a good shot and it has much potential to be a great shot - the one thing that the composition suffers for is that the full front of the engine is halved. Had you captured the full front within the composition it would be much stronger in the presentation of this Iron Horse.
