This was shot in a pretty dark indoor bull fighting training facility in Spain. The horse is a young Andalusian who was full of himself and put on quite a show for us. I was lucky he stopped in that sliver of light and tossed his head.

WOWZERS!!!!! I'm sorry I missed this one during voting it would have gotten a 10 from me. This is postively MAGNIFCENT! What an AWESOME piece of work.
And a nod to posthumous for putting it in the Fantasy Art Gallery. I might not have ever seen this one had I not spotted in posthumous thread. It's stunning :-) And now to mark it as a fav!

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Horse shots don't normally do it for me but this one is tremendous; such dynamism. The coloration is really interesting too; I like how this is obviously quite processed but nonetheless feels honest and raw.

Critical stuff: Perhaps slightly more head space than there needs to be.

Overall: A really well constructed image.

I love horse pics, but only if they offer something different. This is a big helping of that! Onto my imagined 2010 wall, where it will attract the admiration of all my visitors, and mine as well. Thank you.

The power and the poise of this horse comes through very strongly. He/She is very displeased with something or someone. The violent shake of the head and the stretch of the neck is as if the horse is turning up his/her nose at something unseen in the photo. I like the sepia/ brown tones in photo for you take notice of the horse and the emotion much much more than had there been color.
