Sometimes, you enter a challenge just to enter something. It gets you to play with light, angles, and flight modifiers. You know it's going to end up middle of the pack, but you enter it anyway (in case there are some handy comment you can use to make your idea even better). This is definitely one of those entries. I'm hoping it stays above a 5.3.
In this photo, I used a comment from one of my recent photos to my advantage. That comment told me that using a circular polarizer is a good idea for product type shots to reduce reflections. I used this idea to cut down on the reflections in the screen, while making the text nice and crisp.
I also got to use my new cheap-o flash diffuser dome. It's like a Gary Fong dome, but only cost $11 and doesn't fit very well on the flash (takes a couple minutes to get it on). But it works very well. The light is extremely even and well diffused while losing basically no stops of light (actually, the light feels brighter from the dome). I highly recommend getting one.
