| The thing that struck me about this image when voting was the contrast between the apparent warmth of the sun and that ice behind them, and I'm thinking "Dang, that water is cold!!!" I like it when a picture has something to say! |

Well, Kari..I know this is a little late...but I wanted to give you a comment at least...since I know it's yours I'll pull off the gloves (per say)
I gave this a 7, great colors (nothing was pushed to much, has great balance), excellent detail in the ducks themselves...I think that just a "touch" more sharpening could have helped this a bit more (it seems a "little soft in the focus" a higher aperture (f/13/14) would have given you alot more feather detail), the tail of the one duck is cut off...that might have hurt you a bit (but that's minor). And finally, I don't know why but duck/swan pictures don't do so well in FS's...if this had been a "wild life bird challenge" I think this would have placed very well....the tweaks I'm talking about are more "make it perfect" stuff....you get it... |
