 Famous Local landmark "Wagon Hill" taken in the middle of January going numb trying to get the right angle and shot.

As a note to some of the comments received already. The background light is not a sunset, its light pollution from a background town.

And in terms of trying to get an even lighting I did play around with trying to move the subject to the left between the trees but the light became decentralized and didn't look good. I'd prefer if that tree on the right wasn't there at all!

Really nicely controlled. Superb vision and justified finish.
Stars have moved a bit thanks to the 41 second s/s. It's not a bad thing but they are now egg shaped :) I try keep it to 30 seconds no more to keep them round!

I really like this. The silouette works great and the stars are great. Perhaps a more square-ish crop with the wagon in the lower right would have had more impact.

Your superb image brought me the entire flavor of Jean Giono's book "The Joy of Man's Desiring" - almost untranslatable title of the French "Qu ma joie demeure". It begins with one of these simple but eerie lines, full of promises, that are always quoted in anthologies of novels : "C'etait une nuit extraordinaire ....". The title of your mysterious photo is rather pedestrian while the photo is top 10! Thanks.

I really like this image, but the fact that there are stars in the sunset look a bit odd. Is this an overlay? Giving you a 7 anyway.
