I think this is a case where using the rule of thirds would improve the shot. The lighting seems to be coming in a little harsh from the top also. |

The screw (actually a bolt) is definitely an everyday object. The photo has little going for it - too centered, not enough in focus, not very interesting. |

A little bit of creative cropping could have contributed considerably. |

You needed just a tad more depth of field to make this work. I would like to see a closer crop, maybe making a vertical image. Also, since you are using a wood surface, a wood screw would have been a better choice.
The point on a wood screw would have made for a more exciting image. |

oh, this begs for you to be a little closer with a little less light and with a little more focus. if your camera can't do it, try backing off with a different angle, then cropping in to produce your final image. |
