I just... LOVE IT! I have seen thousands of moments like this but never seen it captured this way. I am learning and getting inspired with this one.

Beautifully minimalistic - just the essentials, but a very powerful and compelling image. |

Well son of a gun! What a fantastic image. My first impression is the surfer dude is wearing a suit. So a foggy grey blurry world where a businessslave flips off the world and heads to sea. Maybe he will come back, maybe not.
Photos like this have a way of interacting with the viewer on a unique and very personal level. At least this one does for me. |

I hope I didn't offend any of the Spurgeon Fan Club with this comment. It was tongue-in-cheek. I gave the surfer an eight. |

Wow Ben, what an awesome response to your shot! The blur and ghostly figure make this such an intriguing scene. Congrats on a great finish in the FS! |

I love the contemplative feel to this. Beautifully composed and just enough detail to lend some substance to the dreaminess. |

To be one with the sea. It must be a surfer's dream. This is incredible. |

Nice tones and fascinating lines. Sometimes (often) omitting detail amplifies the picture. This is one of those. Thank you. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Wonderful in so many ways - your confidence in form over detail is brilliant, especially since a hint of selective focus in the bottom right of the frame hints at the lovely textures you have chosen to exclude from the shot. That's what I like about this image, it is full of choices and as such reflects what is going on behind the camera as much as in front.. There are number of aspects of the image that I think are effective; the sharp horizon, the reflection of the surfer, the leading line that links the reflection to the horizon and the multitude of wedges and triangle of light and shade.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Really looking forward to seeing who made this. Excellent stuff. |

I love this! Not your typical 'surfer' shot. It's almost ghostly. |
