Photo of the St Helena Church gave site at night and the lamps lighting up the cemetery

[Jan. 24th, 2011 06:36:12 PM]

I took this Photo at the St Helena Episcopal Church in Beaufort SC. It was built in 1724 and is one of the oldest churches in North America.
I took the photo on a whim while trying to find a setting for this Lamp challenge. I took a total of 17 photos from different angles of the cemetery and thought this one turned out the best, not much adjustment to the photo at all, just added some sharpness.
Beaufort is a fantastic place for taking all sorts of photos, i really enjoy it and look forward to different challenges each week. Some say i am obsessed.

full of potential, I would keep this location in mind, as is, the midtones are too prominent. Love the flare and overall soft feel.

I Really like this, although the lamp light is very bright, in my opinion I feel it sets well with the mood and spookyness of this scene. The soft focus also is very effective here. Your compostion works really well, as I am drawn to the gates and then my eyes wander off to the graves and the background to the right. And oh my gosh is that really Spanish Moss hanging on those trees? I sit here and keep looking at this and I want to pull my collar high over my neck to keep from getting bit by a vampire! My first run thru I gave this an 8 but after comming back to comment and really studying this piece, I think it well deserves a 9.. Good Luck Can't wait to see where this was taken

Nice capture but it appears to be a litle off vertical.

Excellent. Evokes a theater stage.
