I had previously gotten a shot I liked for this challenge, though I did not think it would do very well on the broad appeal scale.


Ellen hadn't gotten anything for this challenge, however, so we went out one evening to shoot some old churches downtown. I ended up getting a shot I liked better and should at least come in with the pack. I was actually surprised this turned out this well, as it was in the evening just before sundown on a heavily overcast day. Dull flat light. Somehow, this one managed to respond nicely to my adjustments. A bit of tonemapping and Silver Efex brought out some nice detail in the stonework.

Very nice composition. Nice detail in the stones, and wonderful tones. B&W a good choice for this.
