 A couple of cowboy reenactors at the Ft. Worth Stockyards waiting to begin the 4pm cattle drive down Exchange Avenue. At one time this was a working stockyards and a rough, seedy part of town. Nowadays it is the tourist destination where one can get a feel of the old west. Fort Worth was the destination at the end of the Chisholm Trail and the daily cattle drive recalls this long gone day.

Anticipated critiques:
-Looks more rule of thirds than out of balance.
-Poor crop of horse at bottom

Post-challenge notes:
Well, it was a risky one with respect to the topic. I did figure it would be a marginal fit at best. It does support my observations that a strong image is more important than suiting everyone's interpretation of the topic. Being a fairly good shot kept this in the top half of the challenge, in spite of the DNMC votes.

Goes to show you what I know. I can see at first a rule of thirds but then the guy on the right throws them off as a "group". I still like it. I think the lighting and clarity are very good.

I really like so much about this shot. The mixture of textures (wood, horse coat, cowboy's clothes), the hard angles of the wood vs. the curve of the horses neck, and the expectant looks of the men out of frame. Great pic.
