I don't expect this one to do that well, mainly because I'm sure the field will be saturated with shots like this. Still, in appreciation of a beautiful moment on the way to work, I offer this.
I did very little to this picture, basically I tweaked a few things, warmed up the temperature slightly, nudged the orange channel a little toward red, and changed the tone slightly (again toward red). I then RAW converted and cropped. I am painfully aware of the air bubble in the picture. I'm afraid it will distract the eye, but the only other option was to put the horizon almost dead-center in the photo, which was technically and aesthetically unappealing.
I didn't sharpen at all, hoping to leave the photo with a softer feel. |
