Thank you for all the comments and for voting. I'm quite satisfied with the result, considering that I started taking pictures with a SLR two weeks ago.
I had been taking pictures of buildings and other stuff at night, and was on my way home when I came across this statue. I felt straight away that it was a perfect subject, considering the posture and the Christmas light in the back.
While fixing my camera to a tripod, I set the shutter speed to 4 seconds. It was a bit difficult the get the timing right, but the effect was achieved by zooming in during exposure. It could have been a bit better, but it was also a bit difficult to get the lights in the back to be perfectly aligned.
I believe I'm in a fast track to learning SLR, but I would really appreciate some tips on how I could have done this better. |

This could be a still from an animated version of that old comic book about The Flash. Should score well. Hope you let us know
how you managed to get that effect with the sparkling lights. |

Cool idea for the challenge. Creative use of zoom blur and flash. |
