I LOVE the minimalist feel in this image. SO beautiful! This is the perfect interpretation of winter in my mind! |

I miss views like this. I have a sort of similar shot I stuck in a calendar last year, only without the snow, but I don't see it in my portfolio. My shot was also taken while on a bike ride.
Meanwhile, huge congrats on 11th! That and 13th are my two favorite finishing spots! |

Beautiful shot and almost top 10! Congrats on a great score and top 20 though. :-) Reminds me of MN. |

Regarding the vignette, the lighter the scene the more noticeable the vignette will be. Let's suppose a vignette had a density-added factor of "10". If the sky, say, were already a "80" (dark blue) then the vignette wouldn't be very noticeable on top of that. But on top of pure white (a nominal density of "0" in this scenario) then the vignette would really stand out. That's what you have here.
Additionally, with the light directly behind you, it's bouncing off of things in front of you and back at the camera, very bright. The more off-axis you get, the less bright that will be. And there's mopisture int he air, so the air and ground both are reflectors...

Very nice, it's like the floor and the sky mould into one.

Wow! 11th congratulations on you great result. Who doesn't ride bikes in the snow? Its after the thaw and refreeze ice that I find hard! |

I really like the stark simplicity of this. It's a refreshing change after the parade of oversaturated skies I've seen up to this point.

Yep, the horizon is the dominant theme here and I find the photo pleasing. You may get some criticism about splitting the frame horizontally. And in general it's a rule to break with care. In THIS case i feel it works perfectly because of the similarity of the snow in the foreground and the featureless sky. Well done. |

Pure and simple. Very nice and here the having the horizon line bang in the middle works perfectly. Just shows that the ole rule of thirds can be challenged in some instances. |

*screams* OMG I LOVE IT!!! lol the minimalism, imo, is fantastic! The limited color pallet makes this picture. (I can̢۪t tell if it̢۪s in bw or not...) Just a wonderful picture that I really hope does well! |
