 i was taking katee for a walk on the firetrail when i noticed these two bull ants .. they looked like they were fighting and i wondered why … i thought they were social insects and worked together for the good of the nest etc .. when i got home i googled bull ants and behaviour .. apparently they must’v been from different nests and were fighting over territory.
first couple of votes and i was getting 4.5 .. was then sitting around 6 for a long time .. got to 6.5 on the last day of voting ..
thankyou for your votes and comments .. i’m very happy especially as ugly insects aren’t everyone’s cup of tea .. !!..:)

WD again on a fab shot...with camera in hand too! It's not about their cup of tea, or it shouldn't be. it's about the skill required to take a shot of something in a hurry, focused, fast. To vote it down simply because you don't like the subject. Bollocks.

Each evening the ants loved nothing more than to have a couple of lagers and play twister as the sun went down . .

Would have been nice to see the bottom ant's head as well for added visual dramatics.
