1/2 November 2010 SC. Some 19th century jacks and rubber ball at The Grinter House in Kansas City. Not sure why RIP is on the tip of jacks. Perhaps a viewer here will know.

I sent a message to the administrator of the Grinter House to understand why the RIP was there. Here's the answer I got:

All of the items in the house are numbered for inventory purposes. Items that are artifacts have an accession number, however there are certain items that we may not have in our collection but need in order to fill out or represent stories for the tour narration. Often items are purchased for practical reasons. These items are reproductions or props and are marked with a R/P. The back slash does indeed look a bit like RIP, especially on such a small object, but it is just to indicate that the item is a reproduction or prop.

The truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.

What happens if you don't pick them all up? RIP?

Student S was curious about your entry. He said he liked the black and white choice you've made with the clarity and lighting depicted.

I really like this one! You do so well with your black and whites I need to get into that more.
