 Lifeguard stands really haven't changed much over the years, have they? Pretty utilitarian. An attempt at "vintage" processing, starting with a "vintage" preset in Lightroom, then adding grain in Photoshop.

And yet another unspectacular entry according to the voters. Gosh. I'd say I'll give up but then that Cory guy would just accuse me of being melodramatic or overdramatic or on dramamine or something.

But gosh. I thought this was actually pretty good. What's wrong with this one?

Stands out as a thumbnail - perhaps loses a tiny bit of impact when opened up - but is still a nice shot with lots of good elements.

Maybe it was the lack of pigeon ?

I see someone made it to the beach with the last weather we had. I love beach shots with dark clouds. Maybe I'll get one one of these days. Nice detail in the rocks and that gull is an added bonus. Very nice shot, just "not in your face" vintage enough for this crowd I guess.

This is the sort of image that just makes me scratch my head because it didn't receive the recognition it deserved. One of my favorite photos by you, Deb. The depth of feeling is incredible. The lighting is almost supernatural, adding an otherworldly glow. LOVE IT!!!!

This conveys a sense of melancholy and nostalgia more than vintage, but it is a stunning image. The lighting is splendid, the desat is perfect, and the bird, well - the cherry on the icing on the cake.
