Two members of the Royal Guard patrolling in front of the Norwegian Royal Castle. The Royal Guards are responsible for protecting the King as well as being the primary infantry unit defending Oslo.

The weapons they carry are a pair of HK416. The only reason I know this is that this model is currently in the process of replacing the AG-3, the Norwegian Army's work horse since the 1960's, and the Royal Guards are among the first to get the upgrade. The AG-3 had a reputation of being a "hand cannon", using 7.62 mm ammunition that could easily penetrate an average pine tree, but with the HK416 the army has moved to the more common 5.56 mm. According to wikipedia, for a soldier carrying 200 rounds of ammunition this amounts to 3-4 kg less weight to carry.

PP done in Lightroom:
Crop from landscape, rotate, adjust white balance, exposure, black levels, contrast, saturation. Noise reduction, reduced saturation of blues slightly. Save as JPG.

Great. Sometimes spontaneous moments happen if you're just there to move the shutter
