Lots of love went into this photograph, I had this idea, but couldn't find an orange hat and scarf. So I crocheted the hat and knitted the scarf (those crafting skills come in handy on more than one occasion in photography).

I really had to mess around with this one in RAW to get the colors to pop the way I wanted.(after all complimentary colors when mixed make brown, and her eyes were reflecting the orange and was making her eyes appear more brown than blue) I had to mess a ton with the hue(you can tell by the slight purple cast to her skin) The saturation and overall lightness had to be adjusted as well. Finally I got the blue in her eyes I was looking for.

The whole time I was trying to figure out the eye color problem I was thinking this would have been so easy to fix in advanced editing instead of Basic. But I learned a ton by trying to solve the problem in ways that would still be legal in basic editing.

At first I was bummed it was a cloudy day and wouldn't get any blue from the sky, but it turned out alright since I decided to go for a high key look and the white clouds provided a great background.

Expected critiques:
Too light
Face washed out and a slight purple cast
Not sure if I cropped it too close, I wanted to ease off a bit but there was a weird thing going on with the scarf.

Congrats on yet another top 10 finish. Such a nice photo and I think you're way harsher in your own critique than the rest of us :) Keep going like this and there's a ribbon waiting for you in the very near future.

Hate orange but it is worth the staring into such beautiful eyes. Second ten for me.

Such a beautiful picture with a wonderfully subtle color complement. A ribbon winner in my book. I just wish the title lived up to the standard set by the picture :)

Fantastic eyes. Not a criticism, but did you try cropping a tiny bit tighter to lose the white bits far left and right. Would that work better? Either way, this was one of only 3x 9's I have given out in this challenge and my pick for a ribbon / honorable mention.
