Location: Bell Mountain wilderness

 I was sleeping under the stars on top of this mountain and the moon woke me up anyway, so wasn't difficult to get out of the sleeping bag at 4am, especially as it was not too cold.
So I grabbed a flashlight and went painting.
One hour wasn't a long time for this with the long time exposures needed. I was a little windy as you can tell by the blurred Red sumac leaves. At 5am I went back to my sleeping bag.

Wow. How did you do this? The exposure couldn't have been that long, as the stars are fairly sharp. Is that really the moon? It's perfectly round. Foreground is extremely well lit. Nice composition. Good one.

Interesting use of color in an otherwise bland shot. I especially like the "halo" around the moon.
