 There was a cross country race at this park yesterday and we ran into little bunches of them periodically, either warming up or cooling off (the race itself was on the other side of the park from this scene). I took the picture just because I liked the way they looked against the trees and the fact that they had just passed an inviting bench, but while I was editing I noticed something very weird about one of the runners. Look closely ...

ETA: Yo_Spiff wins! Her head is not there. I assume she bent it down just as I took the shot but I can't see it, even in the original.

The second runner has no head? It is a beautiful shot. I love the colours.

Beautiful colors! I ran a half marathon last year in a scene much like this, started snowing on us though not much fun.

My cousin captains her college cross country team. It's a small college and it seems to be becoming a lost sport. She told me the other day they started with 12 runners at the beginning of this year and are now down to 6. Great lighting in this shot. I blew it up to see the missing head, but really couldn't make it out.

I can't see enough details of the runners at this size to make out anything unusual. One runner appears to possibly have one leg, but I assume the other is simply behind the person in front of them. One appears to be walking and not running, but I would not call that very unusual.

Added: Thanks for the larger version, but I still can't see anything strange. The second person from the left appears to be missing their head, but I think it is just an illusion and blending in with the foliage behind.

I like the three "stripes" that go horizontally. Fantastic colors. The bench and the runners add a nice bit of vertical to the shot. :)
