My apologies to those offended by this image. No bird was harmed in the making of the image. The bird participated in a research about roaming habits. It was "stamped" by attaching a tiny identification ring to its leg, as you can see here: . The researchers' treatment of the birds is very gentle. Here is the bird just before its release:

Even though you probably were as careful as you could and you most likely released the birdy, this is not my idea of how to photograph animals. On a technical note, the motion blur on the wings is okay, the motion blur on the head ruins the picture imo

Interesting photo for the challenge. I hope you didn't get bitten. You have nice focus on the right spot, I just wish the shutter was a bit faster so we could really see the animal's face.
