Having lived in St. Louis for a number of years, 6 years too many, and my parents for many longer, the Gateway Arch became a monument I saw often. Just like the longhorns from my home state of Texas, this iconic symbol, became part of who I was. But in all the years I lived there or was associated with this monument, I don't think I've seen it any better shot than in this picture. You came up with a new approach to and over exposed monument. Serious congrats on you blue. You deserve it. |

Hey Anthony. Congrats on a very good shot here. Beautifully executed and certainly has made me see this monument (shot to death) in a new light. Ribbon is just a bonus. |

Congratulations Anthony on a much deserved win and on your first Blue!
Thanks for the feedback (got the exposure right at least). Perhaps if I got rid of my old Rebel and kit lens I might also produce shots like this. Nah, I think skill plays into it more. Once again, well done! |

As a kid, I always referred to this monument as "The Great Arch." How fitting that the photographer's name is Archer!
Great work, here. |

Now that is well done, I've been here and this is a very difficult Monument to photograph...where is this reflecting pool? I'm usually in St. Louis in April, would love to get a shot of this...really good |

Lovely! Wonderful job with this - the full reflection is amazing. I understand it's basic and so cloning out the sticks in the water isn't allowed (not knocking points for that btw) but I hope you do have a copy where you've done that and are planning to print and hang this. :-) |

I don't know what this is, but it does look really interesting. Reflections here are great which makes this one of the standouts in this challenge. Colour is also very interesting as well, which helps to make it interesting. The centred composition maybe is not great, but I note that to the right is nothing to help (but does border the image well......)
Not exactly what I was expecting from this challenge, but it is well done and the results are great.
Great time to photograph it, and great reflections.........Well done. |

This is my favorite for the challenge and my only 10.The lighting, colours, perspective and clarity are fantastic. Judging by the lens flare on the street lamps and the smoothness of the water, I'm guessing at least a 30sec exposure (probably way off). To maintain the exposure I'm also guessing some sort of filtering was used. Please let me know as I would love to try and achieve something like this myself one day. Well Done! |
