The low brightness, high saturation, and puffy little clouds give this one a nice relaxing but melancholy look. The clouds remind me of the Bahamas, when the sun reflects off the bottom of the shallow banks through the green water making the bottoms of the clouds glow green. It's beautiful, but errie. |

There is a reason I try to find VERY out of the way places to explore.... |

I much prefer beaches once the tourists have gone. There is also something so calming & peaceful about a cold beach, grey sky & large waves. Bonus if there is a storm too.
Love this shot |

I'll take off-season/empty beaches over sun-baked tourists any time! So much easier to really appreciate the vastness of the ocean, and the power of the waves, when you're all alone with them.
Love that you included enough of the sky to really see where these clouds were hanging. |

Gorgeous, as usual!
There's nothing more peaceful than an empty beach. Wandering around, looking for treasures (shells & seaweed, not someone's lost jewelry), taking photos. Of course I live in Newfoundland so most of our beaches are rocky and pretty empty anyway. |

I love low, fluffy clouds like these. The gradient blue in the sky is so wonderful. It's like a blue rainbow. |

Oh boy!!! The delicious sky. We always call those "beach clouds" and indeed, that is exactly what they are. This has an almost 3-D effect. ME LIKES (why am I talking like a pirate? LOL) |

I love the light in this shot. The low horizon really plays up the importance of those wonderful clouds.
I would spend my life at beaches if I could. They are fantastic in Fall, wonderful in Winter, splendid in spring and - if you can find a park for your car, a spot on the sand, and some splashing space in the water, then they are sublime in Summer.

My beaches? Any time, Bear, Any time. Summer, Spring, Autumn, Winter; they are beautiful any time. There's always one that's unoccupied around here. HehHeh, especially in the Summertime. (Brrrrrrrr)
Your picture? Lovely atmospheric study
For me a little gloomy, maybe like one of the Renaissance painters' work which in its own way is a left-handed compliment.

i'm loving that huge saturated sky and the beautiful fluffy clouds .. the land is almost like an afterthought .. what a brilliant shot .. :) |

And I always think fall is such a peaceful time at the beach. Fantastic clouds and upward perspective to make sure I focus on the clouds. |

I always find fall to be a depressing time at the beach. It's quiet, empty of life. I know it's a cycle, and it will come alive again next year, but it always feels like it's just the end. Lovely, melancholy image Robert. |
