 Mi-24V taking off during an air show. Nobody warns you that when these huge machines take off or hover on a grass airstrip, they blow every single bit of grass and dust right in your face (and lens).

So, it's not snow.

I picked this photo out of the few hundred I took that day - for me, this one screams about action and power (all the grass flying around just adds to the feeling). It's about how it feels standing so uncomfortably close to this beast.

Really cool shot. in your face and the only thing that would improve this is to have a lower blade in the fore and stronger nose angle. This is however just as powerfull and "agressive" with the pilots frontal and all the grass flying around. You did great with this shot. Next time ask them to put some missiles on as well. :)

to get a 6+ in a FS is actually quite a good accomplishment. that grass looks almost like confetti.

Great shot! I gave this an 8 in voting. I've been here quite a few years and I think each FS gets worse with the scoring. It's been especially harsh lately. Still, it's hard to complain about a 6.

I regret that I did not have time to finish voting the FS so that could have given this a 10. I shot an Mi-24 recently that is operated by the cold war air museum in Texas, but I did not get nearly such an awesome shot. Glad to see it made a 6, but it deserved better, IMO. It is getting faved now, however.
