Critique Club for #211 - Forever In my Jeans....
Composition - A pair of jeans on a bed with a quilt that looks like it has some denim patches. I get the name now. The biggest problem with this pic is that it is a little drab. The colors are not really standing out at me. The lighting is really flat. The only part of this picture that gives any sense of depth is the folded over leg. A little dramatic lighting might help this photo. The composition doesn't have anything to really grab the viewer.
Background - N/A
Camera work - Nothing fancy. Nothing bad either. Pretty run of the mill shot. No lighting tricks or fancy exposures.
Processing - A little more saturation on the blues would help a little. There is nothing that really NEEDS to be done to this though.
Overall - The bottom line is that this is not a terribly interesting picture. It is taken pretty well but seems to be lacking any lighting or other effects to make it intriguing or emotive to this viewer. - Inspzil |

Background too busy. Takes away from the blue jeans. I really like the folded pants leg, real neat creative addition. It's a beautiful quilt but not for behind your photo. Maybe one of it alone would be good. Otherwise good and crisp and cropped good. PTL 6 |

I like the placement of the jeans (gives it a bit of kick). I'd use plain bakcground (white maybe?) to focus the attention on the jeans. Jacko. 7 |

This photo is very special...as it has a warm history. The person who entered this is disabled...and has been for many many years. In his day (baby boomer), he WAS forever in blue jeans. He was a cool dude. A few years ago, his daughter made him this quilt...out of blue jeans. It was her way of telling him she knew of his love for blue jeans...and now he\'d have them...even as he slept. It took her months to do this...and it was done so that he\'d be able to \"keep the magic of his memories\". I know this tale...because this person is my brother...AND, BY THE WAY....HE'S STILL A COOL DUDE. |

looks like this picture was taken with an on camera flash which makes the picture look flat. also, too much of the same color and/or texture, not enough contrast. color saturation would help. |

Darling spread. WOW. Did you make that? Very cool. The shot is cute too, great idea, but the jeans are a little lost......they match the background too well. However I admire your effort, and the shot is clean, clear and well lit. Justine |

The composition here is just too flat for my taste. Good lighting, good focus, but I don't get much inspiration from the picture. |

Nice quilt. Maybe a macro shot would have been better. |
