Thanks for the great comments. It was fun, it wasn't about the dress ups for me (I make a lousy pirate) sorry that others wanted it and were disappointed, maybe you can do it in your own private time ;). The chart idea is an old gag that's been around for ages, I saw it on "Thank God You're Here" in Aussie about 2006 series, if you google enough it's there. And to all ya lily livered bilge sucking rats who couldn't be trusted to scrape the barnacles off a rudder and didn't enter, I curses ya to ya watery grave. To all those great entries, well done, have a rum on me. |

i truely love this idea but feel it's somewhat spoilt with the subject looking more like a drag queen out for a run. |

OMG!!! LOL! Very clever and well done. Love the carnival mask, which just adds to the absurdity, but the hoodie is just disappointing :-) |

ROFL, the "Pirate Aye Chart"....what a wonderfully creative and funny idea! I like how you presented this in just straight black and white - very clean and minimal in it's presentation. But I am very confused as to why you put a mardi gras mask on the model? The mask just doesn't project pirates to me (oh, man she's getting very picky right?:-) ). If the model had been wearing just a simple pirate patch (can be a simple black patch) and a bandana wrapped around the head pirate fashion (a plain one color scarf or piece of long rectangular cloth) it would have greatly helped strengthen the composition to speak 'more pirate'. As it is here you have two conflicting genres: pirate and mardi gras. This is a great photo; slightly above average but had you put more attention to detail into the shot it would bump it up into the exceptional category. |

Great concept - fractionally let down by the hoodie! |

Very funny. I like the idea.
Don't quite understand the mask though. If you had just put on a bandana or in some other way tried to look like a pirate, this would have been even better. |
