Pollard-Willows. Known in Dutch as "Knotwilgen"
The Botanical name is Salix Alba
It has soft wood, with an average age of 50 years.
It grows best near the water. In Holland it's a common tree.

Natural symmetry at its best. The lighting is fabulous, and I can only imagine that you were on top of your car to get this vantage point! The trees are like sunbathers, leaning back in their beach chairs, soaking in the warmth of the setting sun. Ok, it might be rising sun, but they still look like they're enjoying it. Beautiful.
