These falls are about 20 minutes from home. During the drought they had little to no water going over them, but we've had lots of rain over recent weeks.
There used to be a walking track to get to the base of the falls, but a tragedy caused its closure. A school group had teenagers abseiling down the basalt column walls and two were killed when one girl dislodged stones and fell, and the girl beneath her was hit by falling rocks.
It is now 20 years since this event and from casual observation there seems to be no evidence that the track was there.
