Come on, folks!

Did anyone read the challenge description?

"An S-curve is a line (often in the shape of an 'S') that leads the viewer through the image. Use the classic S-Curve to compose your photo. The curve may be literal or implied."

It's not supposed to be multiple items shaped like an 'S'. It's supposed to be a curved line that leads the viewer's eye through the photo. It doesn't even have to be 'S'-shaped.

It doesn't have to be "in your face" ... just something that leads your eye on a curve of some sort throughout the image.


Before entering, I showed this image to a popular DPC-er whose response was a person would have to be blind not to see the S-curves. *sigh*

To me, it's quite obvious that Upper Right wing (viewer's right, not the bird's) down the body and out the Lower left wing is a perfect 'S' shape.

But, if that's not obvious, then the beak down to the tail is certainly 'S'-shaped.

*heavy sigh*

I took this specifically for the challenge... Not a shoehorn, but specifially thought-out.

Guess I should try thinking more often. Obviously, I need more practice. *grin*

If it's worth anything... while scrolling down the list of results, this is one of the seven (total) that caught my eye to make me want to view the full-size image. Great S-curve! :)

I didn't vote on this but I will tell you my interpretation of "through the image". I was looking for something that would wind it's way into the depth of the scene and force me to continue looking even further.

I can certainly see the S-Shape. And this is totally a fantastic capture. I believe that this is the type of shot that would have done amazingly well in a FS challenge.

Fantastic shot, but I'm not sure I know what is the s-curve element. Perhaps the shape of the hummingbird?

Lovely bg bokeh and I really like the detail - I can almost hear the humming!
I'm only afraid that the voters might find the S too substle. I think it's fine though.
