 Color like whoa!

This is seven glass marbles inside of a crackly wine glass (one of the same pair I used in my Double Take entry). The background is aluminum foil with seven jagged tears through it; behind the foil is a piece of white paper, underlit with a flourescent lamp.

The marbles were more full of impurities than I'd have liked; the result is a less-clean image than I had wanted, but given the high amount of texture all over most of the image, I'm okay with it.

The original was essentially black and white; I thought it was a bit boring, so I threw in some rainbow-gradient action to get the almost-psychedelic color palette you see here. The result is, I hope, a bit of a twist on the classic transparent-spheres-and-nifty-refractions image.

I thought this might be yours. It reminded me of those macro water drop shots you did (for some reason). I thought that you used a microwave cooked CD, but I see that's not the case. Love the collection of colors!
