I like it. I didn't participate in this challenge, but the musical theme reminded me of my own entry from the previous still life challenge. And I think it scored in this same neighborhood.

No matter how you look at it, you can't go too wrong with Johnny Cash, now, can you?

Old life that I remember well. Nice use of light.

Good job on the lighting.. It seems like a ray of light shone on that specific portion of the image and illuminated the details of the disc

hmmmm generating the illusion of movement in a still life challenge is very risky i'm betting this won't score too well. how many people have an old phonograph laying around anyway? how many old farts like me still use the word phonograph? 6

Sorry, the life was sucked out of me by a DPC rule which deleted my entire previous comment, complete with play on words (lyrics) :( Suffice it to say I found your entry Mondo Cool...

I do not get how this is a still life...to me this shows definite movement (or at least the feel of movement) it just doesn't fit in my head what still life is

I like this a lot - simple, effective. The lighting, with the narrow band picking out the grooves works very well.
