I was trying to focus on the first pear but missed and only have everything from the next 2 pears on in focus. I didn't notice until I edited it and unfortunately had no time for a redo so I had to go with the best of the bunch. :-( Thanks for the comments and votes though. :-)

I agree that I'd like to have seen the front pear in focus too. But the whole scene is quite lovely. I loved the lighting on the basket.

the sharpness and exposure is superb. I just wish you had a different background instead of the all black bg

The compositional structure is fine, but this doesn't really work for me over-all. The basket of dried flowers looks messy and bitty, and is quite confusing to the eye - possibly better in colour, and part of the challenge is making the right choices for mono conversion. The lighting doesn't really help your photo - side lighting, which you seem to be using is a good choice, but your set-up with the ultra black foreground and background blots out the essential shadows. There seems to be something a bit strange going on with the pear lying in the dish, possibly some JPEG artefact's from post processing? All in all, a good effort, but if you repeat the exercise, I feel that you need to concentrate on reproducing textures and shadows.

A nice arrangement. You have all the elements of a great classic still Life. I can't help but notice the photo is out of focus.

Nice composition, but it would have benefited from a larger DOF. Also, the wine glass is almost bleeding into background.

I like your tones, but the pears and the knife IMO should be super sharp in focus

You need a bit more DOF so the pears and knife are also in focus. It's a good arrangement.
