My son waits for us to move on from where we were hanging out at. He had asked probably 10 times if we could go somewhere else he was clearly bored and ready to go.

[Aug. 15th, 2010 07:06:08 PM]

I took this shot at around 9:30 at night with no tripod, at 1/15 shutter speed so it might not seems to special, but I was happy to have it fairly in focus and clean under the circumstances. It was pretty much dark with a little ambient light in the area. I was also happy with the DOF and the overall color of the photo might seem a touch red but that was the first shot I took in those conditions.

Thanks for noticing. Yes I have practiced quite a bit at taking shots with slow shutter speeds hand held I have gotten pretty good at it. Now if only I could get good at everything else photography has to offer:)

Now that I know the details behind it, I have say this is pretty darn good for handheld at a 1/15th!

This is one of those shots that if you had the time to play with, you could try different white balances. This one has that nice evening tungsten/sulfur hue to it. Late days of summer kind of feel.

Cute pic, nice use of depth of field. Either your camera couldn't compensate enough for the lighting, or you forgot about setting an appropriate white balance for the shot. I almost did that myself, but then remembered after I reviewed the first several on the screen.
