 While in Boston, MA for a week of training I noticed that most people would rather wait for the light to naturally change than press this simple button. In our fast paced world, I feel it is underutilized.

This photo is my first submission to this site, however I have been a member for some time.

Underutilized because they don't ever do anything. I am convinced these are placed at intersections as placebos to make pedestrians THINK they will get to cross soon.
