My neighbor had just bought this chair last week from a consignment sale. I thought it would be great for a b&w challenge. Next door to her house is an empty lot that has not been mowed in around a week and a half. I didn't crop it...as far as size it is directly out of the camera. I then took it and adjusted the tone and contrast then I played with the b&w until I had the right effect.

I hope y'all enjoy.

I kind of like this photo. One suggestion would be to try taking the shot at different times of day. It would be a little more interesting if there were a lot of dramatic clouds in the sky. Also if your using Photoshop, use the black and white layer mask and adjust the color tones before the b&w conversion. This allows you to adjust the colors of the image as a b&w to make it really pop out and not look so flat. Maybe turn the chair so that it faces to the left, because right now the chair facing right pulls the viewers eye away from the image. Lots of potential here. Good job!

the serenity of this shot really touches me. i would love to see what this might look like with some dodging n burning of the grasses n sky. i think you could really create a dramatic effect with this one. let e know if you ever redo it. have a great day!

Too much background.. grass, trees, sky and the clouds. Could have also chopped off the grass popping around the chair. The attention slips over from the chair to those grass.
