 Decided at the last minute to submit something. With only a few hours to set up,shoot,and basic edit. :( Not real excited with how this came out. Lighting wasn't at all what I would have liked. Maybe it's time to invest in a light box. :)

Oh well. If anything, I've learned not to wait til the last minute. It was pretty tasty to eat afterwards as well. :)

I'm surprised at how many people didn't like the boarder on this.
Normally I'm not a fan of boarders but I think this one is very complimentary to the photo. Just goes to show how much personal preference has to do with things.
As I mentioned before my biggest concern is that the plate should be tilted just a bit to form the diamond shape; other than that I love this photo.

Nice idea. The border is really much too strong. More emphasis on the food might have made this better.

This is a clear and concise shot, good colors, decent focus and nice subject.
It is the border that adds snap and draws your eyes towards the actual photo.
I have a difficult time with this as I feel like I am supposed to enter a score based on photo, rather than border. Well done and good luck.

Great idea! The flash is giving it harsh light, so just pointing the flash away from the food will make the shadows go away :)

I'm not a fan of the border. It's much too distracting. I wish there was a little more contrast with the light on the subject, but I appreciate the simplicity of the image.

wish the plate was turned a little more so it was centered like a diamond in the middle...and normally i'm not a fan of big frames, but i think this one works well with the simple salad...nice shot

That border is brutal on the eyes. Very distracting. A thin read line would have done the job much better.

Basic, but nice. I don't care for the border at all in this photo. It is really overpowering the main subject, and has actually become a subject itself.

Nice simple composition and the food looks good. I would have rotated this 1 or 2 degrees to make the diamond perfectly straight in the frame.
