 Hmm, so it's not a bug, flower or water drop at least :)

I figured I should tackle a really non-dpc friendly shot for a change and I had this idea which seems to fit the bill. It's not quite what I envisaged as I wanted the person to be much smaller and the composition a little different, but I lacked the space to work in which restricted me somewhat. Nevertheless I'm pleased enough with the end result, if only for pushing myself to try something different.

This will not do well in the challenge, in fact I'd be surprised if it breaks a 5, but I hope at least one person out there appreciates it!

Wow. This is heavy. What makes a person think of this for a photograph? It speaks loudly of dark areas many of us don't want to discuss. Honestly I can't rate it. I'd give it a 10 for what it addresses and it's technical aspects, and on the other hand, I'd give it a 2 for such a depressing idea.

I would have liked to see the foreground and background subjects closer together, possibly overlapping. The aspect ratio is so wide, the two seem disconnected.

Quite an evocative image. B&W was the obvious choice. On the technical side, good shallow DOF.

Great concept shot. I just find the lighting a bit too different on the noose. Something more angled to create mood might have linked the elements in the image better.
