 First try with my new lens. Well actually very old lens, from my husbands old analog pentax camera. It must be over 30 years old, but works with the new digital body. Not a price winning shot, but I wanted to avoid the bugs and flowers and to make the shallow DOF actually functional for the message (imprisoned) of the shot. Since I was experimenting anyway, I tried something different with the border. It usually isn´t appreciated here, but well, I don´t have high expectations of this shot anyway. Just addicted to have something in my sidebar to look at.

the border/frame is interesting and needed, but im curious how a simple black would look--perhaps more dramatic....still a good image. 7

I admit to not being the artistic sort, but as an abstract image this has real appeal. Not something I would hang on my wall, but I could see how you could like it.
