I find the potatoes to be fairly interesting but the tree trunk just does not add anything to the shot and the way some of the top items are cropped off makes the image look awkward. To me it may have been better to pull in tighter and get closer on the potatoes and try to create more interest using lighting to enhance the subjects. Maybe even pick out one or two of the more interesting potatoes and working them. Hope the info helps, good luck in the challenge.

The choice for the purple potatoes is great (I didn´t even know they existed before this challenge), I understand what you are trying to do with the crop, but I think the big amount of bark distracts a bit too much from the potatoes, while the contrast between the bark and the potatoes is not big enough to make that interesting. Hope you get what I mean. 6

Interesting textures but, this seems to be more about the bark than the potatos with the way it's set up. I see the bark more than the subject of potato. 5
