 Some gooseberries from my yard. I love their colour. They start off a light green and darken to a deep red. All the while they retain a translucent quality, so had been planning a shoot like this for awhile.

Snipped off a vine of berries, stuck the cut end into half an orange to hold it steady. Then let it fall in its own natural arch shape. Camera on tripod, natural ambient light, mirror lockup.

pp: crop, brightness/contrast, saturation(?), resize, usm, sharpen, save for web.

I absolutely love the gentle light from below on these Gooseberries and the detail of the fine hairs on them. I have never quite figured out the fascination with these fruits but they seem to be fantastic for photography
