Took this while playing with light painting in my basement. None of the light painting did what I was after, but this one turned out OK. No that isn't grain in the picture, it is the light on the felt of the pool table. I started by trying to remove it as noise, but that made the picture look splotchy so I decided against it.

1. Imported into Lightroom
2. Cropped to size
3. Adjusted exposure, fill light, blacks, brightness and contrast. (still a little blown out in the yellow on my monitor, but we will see)
4. Adjusted various hues to get the balls a little more natural over the bright light.
5. Exported to JPG.
6. Resized for challenge regulations.

It's a shame I can see what the number four is on.
I would like to see how this looks in black and white.

i guess i don't understand the picture. it doesn't appeal to me because it lacks a center (rather, it is off center and/or doesn't use the rule of thirds). and to my artist-side, i see that the red and blue make purple but i'm not sure about the yellow. the colors are all bleeding/reflecting off each other in the picture (harsh light?) and the brown carpet doesn't compliment the colors either. on another note, your focus is very good and they are all positioned well, something that can be very tedious!

Hopefully they don't influence your scores, as the photo deserves more than that :)
I really like the top spot lighting you used.

I really want to like this picture, but the lack of symmetry/off-centered appearance is distracting to me and I'm not crazy about the discoloration of the #3 ball.

I like the setup and the simple idea. I think the lighting you used on top was just a little too bright -- especially on the yellow ball there's a big white part.
