 Street musician in Helsinki. I don't know how long he had been playing, but at 9.30am when I was walking to the office from the train station both him and his friend were sitting near the station but were not playing. When I returned to get the train home (around 3.30pm) they were still there, so I couldn't resist talking to them.

It was difficult, because even though they were both very happy for me to take pics, neither would really make eye contact, so I have a bunch of shots where he's just playing and then finally I managed to get him to look at me.

It was an extremely bright day and he was sitting in the shade, so not really good light.

I'm expecting this to tank - be lucky if it gets a 5

Looks like you were wrong about your score :D I thought this was a great environmental portrait and you captured his expression so well. His eyes say a lot here!

Very nice framing of your subject and his instrument. From the expression on his face, I get the feeling that he's playing a love song -- or a sad song.

Nice balance between the bright sun and the shade. I wish the white keys of the accordion were closer to white (they are light grey here). Some more space above his head would also balance out the space taken up by the accordion on the bottom.

The Accordian takes up way too much of the pix.Cropping off the bottom 1/2 or more of the pix would have placed more impact on the face and eyes.
