 This heron was only about 10 feet away from me, and knew I was there. It didn't discourage him from fishing off a low breakwater in the river flowing through a park near my house.

This is really flirting the edge of DNMC. The spirit of the challenge (complete and total stanger(s)) really is not being met in a wildlife shot with no people in it.

This is a great image, but I'm guessing it's getting hammered. You should have entered this in the free study instead. Don't be afraid to photograph people! They don't bite!

Sorry this just comes across as a shoehorn to me. I think part of the challenge was to get people to interact with strangers. Thats my take on it at least.

You entered this knowing it would get creamed, didn't you? I just read through the challenge description and it does not say it must be a human. I think "human" was the spirit of the challenge, but I do have to give you kudos for a finding a creative loophole. It's also a great shot of a Heron.
