Thank you everyone so much for your support. I am so excited :D
My first ribbon and only my fourth challenge.
It was a roller coaster ride all the way along. On the second day my score peaked at almost 7.3 but dropped to about 6.8 and then rose again till about 7.1 before dropping the last day. So I was so happy to walk in from work and find I had actually placed second.
The shot:
Just a very old book, positioned in a pile of leaves. Natural light.
I really did not expect this shot to go well at all, it was a last minute change from the photograph I had planned to enter, but I obviously made the right decision.
I thought I would get plenty of criticism on my choice of composition, but this felt strongest from the many different shots, so I went with the gut feeling.
I must say a HUGE congrats to Walkaboutwolf on his blue, awesome shot and very well deserved. And also I was very impressed with all the other entries into this challenge, awesome work!

| My favourite season is autumn, and I really like the way you built this picture up: parallel dry leaves with old book. The only thing I would have done differently is cropping: cut out of focus leaves on top, and leave the crisp ones (in focus). But it's only my personal view and preference. In other respect: I like it! |

| good idea, beautiful color scheme, could be a tad sharper at the focal point. composition could have been enhanced by a slightly wider crop and a small move to the left |

| Most people like comments that boost one's ego but will appreciate the comments that offer suggestions that could have improved the shot. Sorry, ego only from me - I love this and is my favourite so far (can't fault) so it's a 10 from me and a rare Fav. Thanks for your effort and art. |

| Nice colors and tones and the old book is interesting to look at, but you've got most of it covered up with too many leaves. |
