 For Citadel: The partial desaturation was rather complicated and involved a black and white layer @ 44% and two hue/sat layers. The original book was blue and color was changed with the 2nd hue/sat layer after desaturating the reds with the first one, that is why it still has it's color while the skin is (almost) completely desaturated.

For KarenNfld: It's simple. Shoot the scene with a blank piece of paper where the repeated shot will be, process the shot (in this case: also create a mask for the hand), duplicate layer, rotate, resize and skew it several times, make a print and stick it where the blank paper originally was, shoot again - et voilà!

Haha, that's what I mean. Speaking precisly, it's a partial advanced(or expert)editing photo.

Great concept - very well done with the book cover. The only thing I don't care for is the sleeve - I think it would have a bit more impact with more wizardly-like clothing. Other than that, very cool image!
