Well I knew this wouldn't do all that well but felt like entering it anyway. My friend hates having a camera pointed at her and she kinda froze up, plus having her hold still for 10-15 seconds didn't help. Oh yeah the stuff on the right side is distracting as well but she was done before I could reposition everything.

Anyway what I did was hang a black burtain behind and draped an additional one over a chair on a table at her level. I figured out where my lens needed to be zoomed for the book then zoomed it out to get her face in the book. I had her stand still and fired off my flash to the camera left through an umbrella then she move out of the frame and I zoomed the camera where I figured it needed to be then fired the fash a few more time.

Thats it, very little editing in post and I only took 4 shots total. This would be fun to revisit with a more willing model and a proper setup.

I think there is an interesting immersed-in-a-book idea here, but this hasn't quite come together. Superimposing a subject more apropos to the book/title may have been more effective.

Very interesting, especially for basic edition. Hope you'll explain how this was accomplished after the challenge is over.

I don't know if this matches the editing rules...

I am supposing the idea you are trying to convey with the double exposure is that the reader is enthralled and immersed in this novel. I'm afraid the expression is coming off to me more like a drivers license mug shot. Sorry.
