Great White Egret taking off over a duckweed-filled pond. There were actually 9 egrets in and around the pond; I happened to be in the right spot when this one took off. Love the shadow on the very green pond vegetation so I kept a wider crop than I otherwise would haved used. Bit blown out on the neck exposure; for once I wish I had limited the ISO more.
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), merged at 10% transparency in luminosity mode, cropped, white balance, shifted greens greener, slight vignette, dodged/burnt bird bits and desaturated spots, increased saturation on bill, colored/cloned out some bright leaves, softened shadow edges on bird, resized, sharpened, added border. |
