Challenge: Boats II (Advanced Editing VII*)

All week I have been complaining that there are no boats where I live. What I completely forgot about was that I was planning a trip to visit my brother in San Fransisco just before the challenge was over, and what do you know there are boats there! :-P
This wasn't taken in the bay, but a bit farther out in actual ocean.

I really like the composition of this shot. Though i am sure I will get some people who would like to see the full sails included. I took a shot of that too, trust me, this one looks better.

Its feels weird submitting this because I am actually not going to be here to see how it ultimately does. In a half a week I am leaving for Costa Rica for a month and will very rarely have internet access.

I don't mind crowding and snipping sails, etc; however, it is a rather flat composition. No real, or percieved movement. A boat sailing < stopped motion> in the same plane as the horizon with out a second or third element to create a visual tension made for a flat scene. Cheers, Ben

Beautiful boat, but the the composition is a bit awkward to me - the boat is just too crowded in the upper corner of the frame...

why did you crop out the top of the sail? imho it would have been a much better image with all the sail in there
