lack of comments probably b/c there isn't much going on here other than a boat in the water.
nothing horrible and nothing fabulous doesn't inspire much commenting

I would have to agree that a closer crop and possibly a bit more contrast would have improved this a little more...but as to why no comments, I don't know...I do know that during and after DPL I haven't done the commenting that I had been doing prior to DPL...guess I need to get back on the stick...huh. And to add insult to injury, I didn't vote on this either (I'm getting over my burn out...excuses, excuses) but I'm the kind of voter that probably would have given this an 8/9 due to the "working" feel of the picture...excellent job

I like the image very much. After seeing Art's edit, I'm wondering if a closer crop would have been beneficial? The water in the foreground and left side is not nearly as interesting as the boat or it's wake.

I'm really sorry that I didn't come back and comment on this (as I fully intended to) because I really liked it and gave you 9. I like the composition, the colour, the swell of wave in the foreground and the birds add a nice embellishment.

I really don't understand why your boat didn't get any comments. I didn't vote in this challenge but would have given it a 6 or a 7. It's wonderfully done, the sea gulls following it reveal it to be a working boat and give it a strong sense of motion and tells a story. The reflections on the water in front of the boat are an added bonus. I know getting a comment after the fact isn't nearly as satisfying as during voting. It truly is weird that this shot got no comments.

I like this image very much. I do think with a bit more contrast this image would have moved up quite a bit. Well done, great exposure and clarity.

It's an excellent image - IMO (based solely on what I know scores well on DPC), some more dramatic processing could have turned this into a top 10 - top 20. It was a very competitive challenge though.
